Gray Research Production is dedicated to providing top-quality seed production services. With over 20 years of research experience in the development of maize germplasm, we specialize in nursery, isolated crossing blocks, inbred increases, and specialty projects to meet our customers’ diverse needs. Our north central Illinois location affords us the ability to produce quality seed ranging from 90 to 120 day relative maturity. We pride ourselves on being accessible and responsive to our customers’ needs.

Stephen Gray
President, CEO
Stephen studied at the University of Illinois earning a B.S. degree with an emphasis in Genetics and Plant Breeding. Prior to founding Gray Research Production in 2005, he worked as an assistant plant breeder for several corporations with programs utilizing 85-114 DRM genetics. He has also participated in several research station startups. Gray Research Production grew out of Gray Farms, a centennial farm that has been in his family for over 100 years.
Patricia Gray
Vice President
Patty graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.A. in English, then earned an M.S. in Psychology from Illinois State University. At Gray Research Production she manages the company’s financial and administrative duties. Patty’s experience with all aspects of field production is applied to the company’s stringent documentation and reporting practices. Her goal is to provide the timely, accurate data and analysis necessary to achieve the best overall result for each customer and every project.
Brian Fulk
Research Technician
Brian received a B.S. degree in Agronomy, Soil and Crop Management from Purdue University and has research experience in corn and soybean breeding. At Gray Research Production, he emphasizes safety in the management of field personnel and operations, and focuses his organization and planning skills to ensure customer protocols are implemented and field data accurately collected.
